Fixed Dome/Concrete Biogas Plant Design

Our Fixed Dome/Concrete Biogas Plant is a durable and reliable renewable energy solution designed to convert organic waste into clean, usable biogas. The system is constructed using masonry and concrete materials, making it suitable for homes, farms, institutions, and businesses that require a permanent biogas installation.

The fixed-dome design provides a long-term solution for organic waste management and renewable energy generation, with the underground structure offering protection from external environmental conditions and requiring relatively little surface space.

How It Works

The system operates through a simple process:

  1. Organic waste is fed into the digester
Suitable materials such as livestock manure, kitchen waste, and other biodegradable waste are mixed with water and introduced into the digester.
  2. Anaerobic digestion takes place
Inside the sealed underground digester, microorganisms break down the organic material in the absence of oxygen.
  3. Biogas is produced
The digestion process generates biogas, which accumulates in the dome-shaped gas storage area above the slurry.
  4. Biogas is supplied for use
The gas is directed through a gas pipeline and can be used for cooking, heating, and other suitable applications.
  5. Bio-slurry is produced
The digested material flows out through the outlet chamber and can be collected and used as an organic fertilizer after appropriate handling.

Main Components

  • Underground concrete biogas digester
  • Inlet/feed chamber
  • Fixed gas storage dome
  • Gas outlet and piping system
  • Gas pressure and control components
  • Outlet/displacement chamber
  • Bio-slurry collection system
  • Biogas stove or suitable gas appliance
  • Safety and monitoring components

Key Benefits

  1. Renewable Energy – Converts organic waste into useful biogas for energy applications.
  2. Durable Construction – Concrete and masonry construction provides a strong and permanent structure.
  3. Long-Term Solution – Designed for continuous use with proper construction, operation, and maintenance.
  4. Effective Waste Management – Provides a productive way to utilize livestock manure, kitchen waste, and other suitable biodegradable materials.
  5. Reduced Fuel Dependence – Can reduce reliance on conventional cooking fuels such as firewood, charcoal, and LPG.
  6. Low Surface Space Requirement – Much of the digester is constructed underground, making efficient use of available land.
  7. Organic Fertilizer – Produces bio-slurry that can be utilized as an agricultural fertilizer after proper handling.
  8. Weather Resistant – The underground concrete structure provides protection from many external weather conditions.
  9. Suitable for Permanent Installations – Ideal for homes, farms, institutions, and businesses requiring a fixed biogas system.
